The participant is exposed to courses aimed at strengthening the fundamentals in all areas of functional management and providing a holistic perspective of general management in the first two phases. The rigour of a management programme is blended with applying these fundamentals to family managed businesses, and thereby ensuring relevance. These phases also comprise family business courses aimed at addressing the key family-related challenges faced by Indian FMBs.
In addition to the credit-courses, the programme comprises several non-classroom events, seminars, lectures etc. based on participant feedback, as also based on the assessment of the programme office

The PGDM Programme comprises of a foundation module followed by six trimesters spread over two academic years. The first year curriculum aims to strengthen the fundamentals in all areas of functional management and provides a holistic perspective of general management. The second year specialisation provides inputs in the chosen area of specialisation and is customized to the student's career focus and industry requirements.
The focal point of the Institute, the well-stocked and fully computerized library offers 27 different types of learning media. It has more than 18,000 books including the latest management books, more than 150 foreign and Indian business journals and periodicals, audio-video cassettes and CD-ROMs.
All students are provided with laptops, which facilitate learning at the time and pace of the student. It has also helped students to submit their assignments online. The institute has installed network printers in the Institute as well as the hostels.
SPJIMR already has formal collaborations with one EuropeanUniversity and one US University and are in the process of finalizing collaborations with one Belgian and some more of the top thirty American Universities.
